Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary Chris Huhne MP has visited Hinckley and Bosworth to see for himself the work being done by local Liberal Democrats to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Chris Huhne together with Michael Mullaney Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth, and Cllr David Bill met with Inspector Martyn Ball, Commander of Hinckley's Local Police Unit, to discuss how the police are working with the local council to help reduce disorder in Hinckley town centre at night.

Chris Huhne then met with Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrat councillors to formally present them with two awards that local councillors had won for their work in tackling anti-social behaviour.

These were the Beacon award for tackling disorder in the town centre at night and an award for being the Liberal Democrat council group of the year in the area of tackling anti-social behaviour.

Chris Huhne then went on to visit the site of the Community House which the council are helping to fund in Barwell.

Michael Mullaney Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth said "We were delighted to have Chris Huhne in Hinckley and Bosworth for the day. He was really interested to see the work that the local Liberal Democrat run council, in co-operation with the police, are doing to tackle anti-social behaviour."
