Leicestershire Fire Authority is proposing to reduce the number of personnel at Hinckley Fire Station by eight.

Michael Mullaney, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Hinckley and Bosworth who has launched a petition to stop the cuts said "It is vital that the Fire Station in Hinckley is properly staffed.

"The Fire Service is there to save lives, it is too important a service to be cut. The proposal to reduce the staff at Hinckley Fire Station by so much could damage this essential service."
