Local Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to save threatened local bus services.
The 152 bus between Leicester and Coalville is to be scrapped and the 153 bus service is to be cut back. This includes reducing the evening bus service and scrapping the Sunday service.
Liberal Democrat Councillor Bill Crooks, who represents the villages of Barlestone, Nailstone and Osbaston, that are covered by the services said "These plans will reduce the number of buses serving people in the villages.
"People are encouraged to use public transport to protect the environment. If the bus service is cut, drivers will be less likely to use the bus and life will be made harder for people in these villages who can't drive."
Cllr Bill Crooks and fellow Lib Dem campaigner Dianne Finney, have launched a petition which can be signed online at http://campaigns.libdems.org.uk/busservicechanges or you can get a paper copy by calling Bill Crooks on 01455 822027
