February 21, 2012 9:10 PM

Burbage County Councillors Stuart Bray and Keith Lynch are calling on the County Council to reduce the current 40mph speed limit on Sapcote Road to 30mph.

Cllrs Stuart Bray and Keith Lynch (Lib Dem, Burbage Castle) have launched a petition and are urging local residents to back the campaign.

Stuart & Keith said, "Many residents in the Sapcote Road area have complained about cars going too fast along the stretch of Sapcote Road which is currently 40mph. We have heard tales of a number of near-misses which could have been quite serious accidents. We hope the County Council will consider this request. We urge as many people as possible sign the petition which we will be Stuart & Keith at the start of the current 40mph limitpresenting to the next meeting of the Hinckley & Bosworth Highways Forum."
