17 May 2015

Bosworth again put in one of the best results for the Lib Dems in Britain at the general election

Bosworth recorded the 8th lowest swing against the Lib Dems out of 631 seats contested in Britain.

This follows on from Hinckley and Bosworth being one of only 2 councils, along with Eastbourne, that the Lib Dems gained from the Conservatives in 2007.

Being one of only two places in Britain that the Lib Dems gained County Council seats from the Conservatives in 2009.

Being the seat with the biggest swing against any Tory MP, 6%, in 2010, and being one of the few Councils the Lib Dems retained majority control of, post coalition in 2011.

Bosworth Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate Cllr Michael Mullaney said, "The result of the general election show yet again, that the hard-working campaigning Lib Dems in Hinckley and Bosworth continue to buck the trend and get way above average results in election after election."
