Budget Apprenticeship measure ‘good news’ for Hinckley and Bosworth!
New incentives for employers to take on apprenticeships are good news for Hinckley and Bosworth, according to the Liberal Democrats.
The Party has made seeing a huge increase in apprenticeships a major priority and local representatives are welcoming the news that more are on their way.
Cllr Michael Mullaney, the Party's Parliamentary Spokesperson, says "The Budget announcement of 100,000 new apprenticeships being created over the next two years is fantastic news and will mean even more opportunities for young people and others here in our area."
"We've announced £85million in 2014-15 and 2015-16 to extend the Apprenticeship Grants for Employers scheme, giving businesses in Hinckley and Bosworth incentive to take on apprentices."
Cllr Mathew Hulbert, the Borough's Children and Young People's Champion, says "As a Party which believes in opportunities for young people, I'm very pleased to see Lib Dem Ministers in Government delivering £20million to support apprenticeships up to postgraduate level."
"In recent years, here in our area, we've seen one of the largest increases in apprenticeships outside of London and this new funding will provide even more opportunities, which is fantastic news for young people in places such as Barwell, where I represent."
