Burbage By-election win for Lib Dems

28 Jun 2008

Liberal Democrats in Hinckley and Bosworth are again celebrating success at the polls.

Liberal Democrats Maureen Lynch and Richard Flemming stormed to victory with 71.2% of the vote in the Lash Hill Ward of Burbage Parish Council beating the Conservatives.

The success follows on from Bronwen Witherford's tremendous victory in Hinckley Castle Ward last month

Chairman of Bosworth Lib Dems Cllr Stuart Bray said, "This result is another vote of confidence in the Lib Dems. It is clear that local people like the way we are moving the area forward."

"At the next general election it is clear that the Conservatives will face a real challenge in this constituency from the Liberal Democrats. Labour are finished locally. They came a poor 4th in Castle Ward and they couldn't even find a candidate for the Lash Hill Election."
