Hinckley councillor and Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Bosworth Michael Mullaney spoke at the national Lib Dem conference about the need for fairer funding for areas like Hinckley and Bosworth who currently don't get their fair share of funding for health, education, police and other services.

Michael Mullaney said "Areas like Hinckley and Bosworth lose out on funding for our police, NHS, schools, roads and other services. A large growing area like ours needs an NHS Walk in Centre or Minor Injuries Unit we've been forgotten for too long. We have some of the lowest levels of social mobility in Hinckley and Bosworth not surprising since we have some of the worst financed schools. Our area deserves better than it's getting under the Tory government.

"It's good to see in the policies published this week Lib Dems setting out plans for supporting all regions of the U.K. including here in Hinckley and Bosworth and the rest of the East Midlands who are often forgotten".
