22 Dec 2012

Hinckley Councillor Michael Mullaney (Lib Dem:Trinity Ward) has welcomed the news that a club dedicated to helping out of work local people find jobs is up and running again in Hinckley.

The Hinckley Workclub runs at Hinckley Library and offers job seekers support such as putting together CVs and help with job interview skills.

The club had closed in May after funding from the old East Midlands Development Agency stopped. However, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council have come to an agreement to ensure that the club can run again.

Commenting on the news Cllr Michael Mullaney said "People who attend the Workclub told me about their experiences there and how it has helped give them the skills and confidence they need to get back into the job market.

"I'm glad that we have been able to help get it up and running again as the Workclub gives job seekers in the Hinckley area the chance to meet others looking for work, share job-hunting experiences and get advice on interview techniques, CVs and even volunteering opportunities."

The Workclub runs in Hinckley Library from 9.30am-midday on Wednesdays.
