8 Oct 2010

Two Hinckley councillors are calling for action to tackle traffic problems in the Northfield Road / Westfield Road area of the town.

Local residents have been concerned about speeding traffic and heavy goods vehicles travelling along their road.

Liberal Democrat Councillors for Hinckley Castle Ward, Stuart Bray and Bron Witherford took action and organised a petition which was signed by local people. The petition called upon the County Council to put a weight restriction on Northfield and Westfield Roads, and for more action to tackle speeding on the roads.

Cllrs Bray and Witherford submitted the petition at last weeks Council meeting and asked for it to be sent to the County Council's Highways Department for action.
