Easter Egg packaging slashed

10 Apr 2009

A leading local Liberal Democrat has welcomed news that the packaging on Easter Eggs has been slashed by over a third compared to last year.

Michael Mullaney, Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth, was commenting on a report into Easter Egg packaging produced by a fellow Liberal Democrat, Jo Swinson MP.

"Compared to last year the packaging on Easter Eggs has been cut by an average of 33.5%. said Michael Mullaney.

"It is good to see that many companies are cutting back on wasteful packaging, but manufacturers can still go further, there are still some Easter Eggs that are excessively packaged."
