Hinckley and Bosworth's parliamentary spokesman Cllr Michael Mullaney spoke to a packed national Lib Dem conference in Glasgow about the positive news on the economy in Hinckley and Bosworth and about the importance of making work pay.

Michael Mullaney said "In Hinckley and Bosworth we have an Enterprise at Mira on the A5 which is bringing thousands of jobs to the local area. We have the parcel firm DPD moving into Hinckley bringing about a 1,000 jobs to the area.

"In addition to bringing jobs to the area, action by Lib Dems on Hinckley and Bosworth Council and in government is helping make work pay.

Michael Mullaney tells the conference about good news on jobs locally

"39,000 local workers will have had an Income Tax cut thanks to Lib Dems in government delivering their policy of nobody paying Income Tax on the first £10,000 they earn.

"Locally Hinckley and Bosworth was one of the first Councils in the Country to pay all its workers the Living Wage giving a boost to the pay of the lowest earning workers and making work pay."
