Ground breaking ceremony for new affordable homes for local people

This evening saw the the ground-breaking ceremony for the new affordable homes that will be built in Carlton village.

Villagers asked for affordable properties locally, as there were none, so that families could afford to stay in the village.

Cllr Michael Mullaney who attended the ceremony said "This was delivered thanks to hard work from many people and co-operation from Hinckley and Bosworth Council, the local Parish Council, County Council, local residents, and the housing association working together.

"This is another example of the great work that is being done in Hinckley and B osworth delivering quality affordable housing for lcoal people."
