Handling a Storm of Enquiries

10 Feb 2015

WHEN a mini tornado hit Earl Shilton, one of the people helping to handle calls from worried tenants was Councillor Michael Mullaney.

Cllr Mullaney, who is the Borough Council's Executive

Member responsible for Housing, was already spending time in the council's call centre where he was gaining first-hand experience of how staff deal with housing repairs queries from tenants.

He said: "It was quite a hectic day as a mini tornado hit Earl Shilton that day and a fair few residents were calling in with fencing panels and gates having been blown down by the strong winds.

"It was great to me et the staff at the call centre and good to see their dedication to delivering good quality customer service to tenants in Hinckley and Bosworth.

"Although many tenants contact me as a councillor and I then take up their issues with council officers, it was good to see how things work from the staff's perspective."
