There has been a massive response to Michael Mullaney's NHS Inquiry

Over 1,300 people across Hinckley and Bosworth have responded to an NHS Inquiry conducted by the Liberal Democrats' parliamentary spokesman Michael Mullaney.

The findings found wide support for the work of nurses and doctors, but also widespread unhappiness about the Labour government's handling of the NHS. The survey also found concerns about dental care.

"Michael Mullaney said "I have had a really good response to the survey. People have given me some really useful information about the state of the NHS in our area.

"There were a number of important findings in the survey. Nearly a quarter of local people were not registered with an NHS dentist, and nearly one in five people said they or a family member had experienced problems trying to get NHS dental treatment locally. A similar number had not been for a dental check up in the last year.

"There was widespread support for improved screening to spot illnesses quicker and huge opposition to mixed sex wards.

"People are overwhelmingly satisfied with the care provided by NHS staff but are very concerned about the governments handling of the NHS.

"Two out of three people were fairly or very unsatisfied with the governments handling of the NHS"
