On Saturday Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrats held a Market Stall on Castle Street, Hinckley to put out the case for Britain voting to stay in the European Union.

Amongst those manning the stall was Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth Cllr Michael Mullaney. Michael said "Numerous people came up to the stall to give their views on the European referendum.

"The EU Referendum will be the most important vote in a generation. It's vitally important that we vote to stay in. The UK is more prosperous and safer as part of Europe. Much of our industry here in the Midlands relies on trade with the European Union.

" A vote to remain is a vote in favour of a positive, outward-looking country which seeks to work with our neighbours to deal with the challenges we face."

Campaigner Mathew Hulbert, former Councillor for Barwell, says ''All the facts and figures point to one clear conclusion, that we are richer, safer, greener and stronger in the European Union than we ever would be outside it.

''In a world where so many of the problems and challenges we face, from Climate Change to cross-border crime, depend on countries working together and having joint efforts to solve them, it'd be madness to rip ourselves out of one of the most successful family of nations on the face of the planet.

I'm voting for us to stay in the EU and I urge others to do so too.''
