Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrats attend national conference

17 Sep 2021

Liberal Democrats in Leicestershire will be among thousands of party members from across the country attending their party's annual conference this weekend.

The conference will be held online rather than at the traditional seaside venues though due to continuing covid-19 concerns.

Amongst those attending the conference are Councillor Michael Mullaney, Leader of the opposition on Leicestershire County Council. Michael said "The Liberal Democrats are in a very positive mood following the gain of the parliamentary seat of Chesham and Amersham from the Conservatives on a huge swing and a series of council by-election gains, including a recent gain from the Conservatives in Rutland. As the Conservative government becomes increasingly unpopular Liberal Democrats are position to increase our support at their expense.

"Liberal Democrats have positive policies on supporting carers who have done so much during the pandemic, supporting small businesses as they emerge from the pandemic and protecting the environment that can help build a better Britain post covid-19."
