Hinckley and Bosworth’s MP letting down our local NHS again

Hinckley and Bosworth's Tory MP David Tredinnick is under fire after using two major parliamentary debates last week to raise yet again the use of alternative medicines in the NHS.

In a debate on Tuesday about Brexit and the NHS Mr Tredinnick claimed Brexit was good as it was an opportunity to integrate Chinese alternative Medicine into the NHS. And in another debate on the subject on Thursday he raised the subject of using homeopathy in the NHS post Brexit.

Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman Councillor Michael Mullaney said "Our MP shows yet again how he is letting down people in Hinckley and Bosworth. Our local NHS is in crisis point. We risk losing the Mount Road Hospital in Hinckley without any promise of a replacement Walk-in Centre or Minor Injuries Unit that our large and growing population needs.

"We saw in December the massive delays at local Accident and Emergency Hospitals with people having to wait hours outside hospitals in Ambulances waiting to be seen.

"These debates could have been an opportunity for our MP to raise the huge problems our local NHS faces. Instead Mr Tredinnick uses them as an opportunity to again push his quack theories on using homeopathy and other alternative therapies.

"Mr Tredinnick shows yet again how he totally fails to represent our area. The people of Hinckley and Bosworth are not getting proper representation in parliament, they are getting a parody, a caricature, a joke of a representation. It's time Mr Tredinnick started taking up the serious issues of our NHS locally, either that or time he stood aside to let someone take over who will represent local people on the issues that matter to them."
