Hinckley and Bosworth Tenants and Councillor attend launch of National Council Housing Manifesto

A manifesto for the Future of Council Housing was recently launched at the House of Commons. In attendance were Hinckley and Bosworth Tenants including Pam Wills, Chairman of Hinckley and Bosworth's Together for Tenants group and Michael Mullaney, Hinckley and Bosworth Councillor responsible for Council Housing.

The manifesto emphasised the importance of building new Council Houses for people struggling to get on the housing market.

Cllr Michael Mullaney said "Council Housing is an important part of the housing make up. After decades of there being no Council Houses built in Hinckley and Bosworth I am proud we are finally seeing some built. We've recently seen some new council houses acquired in Newbold Verdon and soon we will be seeing a new Council House building programme unveiled, that will see over a 100 new Council houses built in the borough, helping local families who are struggling to afford somewhere to live.

"I'm delighted that local tenants and myself were able to attend the unveiling of this I believe first ever national manifesto for council housing."
