Liberal Democrats are the clear challengers to the Conservatives in our area
The Liberal Democrats got a massive increase in there vote here yesterday. Thankyou!

Liberal Democrats in Bosworth massively increased their vote in yesterday's general election.

The Liberal Democrats got 18,000 votes putting them a close second to Conservative MP David Tredinnick who got 23,132. Their was a five percent swing from the Conservatives to the Liberal Democrats.

Labour came a distant third with just 8,674 votes.

Liberal Democrat candidate Michael Mullaney said "Thank you to everyone who supported the Lib Dems yesterday. This huge vote will give strength to our local campaigns; fighting to keep open local care homes, save the Westfield Community Centre, local bus services and the Fire Service all of which are threatened by Conservative cut backs.

"It is clear that Hinckley and Bosworth is a really close contest between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives."
