The Lib Dems were successful in all three Earl Shilton Town Council elections. Pat Gelhar was elected in the Westfield ward with 63% of the vote, Patrick Weightman won the Weavers ward with 61% and Anna Weightman won the Townlands ward with 53%. All three seats were won against opposition from Reform UK.

Patrick Weightman said “We want to say a huge thank you to the people of Earl Shilton for electing Anna, Pat and myself in a clean sweep of Lib Dem wins.”

Chairman of Hinckley and Bosworth Lib Dems and Hinckley and Bosworth Councillor Mark Bools said “With County Council elections coming up on May 1st it shows the Lib Dems are setting the pace for change from the Conservatives locally.

“Neither the Conservatives or Labour found candidates to stand. After their humiliating I 4th place in Hinckley and Bosworth at the general election everyone knows Labour are out of the race here now it seems the Tories are too.”
