Liberal Democrats launch small business survey
Liberal Democrats in Hinckley and Bosworth are surveying small business to get their experiences of the current financial downturn.
Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth Michael Mullaney is writing to small business owners across the area asking them how the current recession is affecting their business.
Michael Mullaney said "The recession means many small business owners may be struggling to keep afloat. We want to hear the experiences of local small business owners and find out what support they need to help them through these difficult times.
"I am working with Vince Cable MP, the Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor and other Liberal Democrats, to asses the impact of the recession on small and medium sized businesses here in Hinckley and Bosworth and across Britain."
Cllr Stuart Bray, Lib Dem spokesman for Town Centre issues said "With big businesses like Woolworths going to the wall, it is crucial we do all we can to protect the local small businesses we have. We will be using the results of this survey to put more pressure on Gordon Brown's government to take the necessary steps to help local businesses survive the recession."
