Pete Stead-Davis fighting for Barwell
Liberal Democrats in Barwell are delighted that Barwell resident and campaigner Pete Stead-Davis is standing to be the new Barwell Parish Councillor in the upcoming by-election.
On Thursday 18th October residents in Barwell St Mary's get to vote for their new Parish Councillor and Pete Stead-Davis is already hitting the ground running having successfully campaigned on many local issues.
Pete was involved in the successful campaign involving residents and Lib Dem campaigners to save Barwell Sure Start Children's Centre from closure. The Conservative County Council wanted to close the Children's Centre but local campaigning forced them to keep it open.
Pete also worked with local Lib Dem campaigners in the successful battle to stop the Gladman's development off The Common.
Pete Stead-Davis said "I want to be able to continue to serve local residents in Barwell fighting for them on the issues that matter. In particular I want to see a Library back in Barwell, it was appalling when the Conservative County Council closed Barwell's Library a few years ago.
"I also want to see action on issues like fly-tipping which is a big problem particularly since the Conservatives started charging for the Brown Bins and cut the hours at Barwell Tip."
The election on Thursday 18th October looks set to be a close race between Lib Dem Pete Stead-Davis and the Conservatives who have let Barwell down.
