Petition launched to stop phone masts

10 Nov 2011

A petition has been launched opposing plans for three controversial phone masts.

Local Liberal Democrat councillors have launched the petition to oppose plans to put three phone masts in Burbage on Rugby Road, Three Pots Road and Hinckley Road.

Cllr Stuart Bray who has organised the petition said "I urge local residents to sign the petition. The last time these phone masts were submitted they were rejected.

"They should be rejected again. The planned sites are in residential areas and near local schools. The masts are huge and would be an eyesore and dominate the street scene.

"In the 21st century, when most people have mobile phones, masts are needed but they should be sited in industrial estates away from residential areas."
The applications for the phone masts are to be decided by Hinckley and Bosworth's Planning Committee on Tuesday 15th November.

People can sign the petition before then at www.bosworthlibdems.org.uk
