Petition opposing Phone Mast submitted
A petition signed by nearly 200 residents opposing proposals to put a 15metre (49 foot) phone mast on Tudor Road, Hinckley has been submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, a copy is also being sent to the Mobile Phone Companies' representatives.
The signatures were submitted to the Borough Council by Liberal Democrat Cllr Michael Mullaney at Tuesday night's Full Council meeting on behalf of fellow Hinckley Trinity and De Montfort Ward Lib Dem councillors.
Cllr Michael Mullaney said "It's clear many local residents are unhappy with a phone mast going on this site. I hope the phone companies will listen and drop Tudor Road as a site."
Fellow Hinckley Trinity Lib Dem, Cllr Dave Cope added "Many thanks to everyone who signed the petition. With the proposed site being near a Care Home, a school and the Club for young people, it really is the wrong place."
