Popular local campaigner Rob Mayne is fighting for Burbage

28 Sep 2017

Voters in Burbage will once again be going to the polls, this time to elect a new local councillor. A Councillor has sensationally quit his post following a bust-up in the ruling Conservative Group.

Liberal Democrats are delighted that long-standing Burbage resident Rob Mayne has agreed to stand in the by-election which will take place on October 5th.

Rob lives with his wife Pauline on Applebee Road and is a retired businessman. Rob is passionate about sport and improving facilities for young people. Rob was part of the last Lib Dem administration that delivered The Crescent and a new leisure centre for local people.

The election will be a straight fight between Rob and the Conservatives. Labour do not have a single councillor in Burbage and will not win this time.
