Residents urged to write in to oppose phone mast plan
Proposals have now been submitted to put a mobile phone mast on Tudor Road in Hinckley.
Vodafone have now formally submitted plans to put a 15 metre (49 foot) high mobile phone mast on Tudor Road.
Local Liberal Democrat councillors are urging local resident s to write in and oppose the plans.
Local Lib Dem Cllr Michael Mullaney said "This mast is next to a nursing home, near a care home that is about to be built, near Richmond School and near the Hinckley Club for Young People.
"This is a very bad site for a phone mast I have written in to object to it and I would urge people who oppose the mast to write in and oppose the plans."
Local County Councillor Don Wright said "This planned phone mast is in completely the wrong place. Phone masts are needed but they should be in industrial areas not like this proposal in residential areas near schools and old people's homes.
"The more people who write in to oppose the plans the more chance we have of getting this inappropriate phone mast stopped."
People can write in to object by emailing planning@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk or writing to Development Services, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Council Offices, Argents Mead, Hinckley, LE10 1BZ and quoting planning application 12/00489/GDOT
