Russell Turner selected to stand for Burbage Lash Hill

5 Jan 2022

Local Lib Dems are delighted that long-standing Burbage resident Russell Turner has decided to stand in the Parish Council by-election on 20th January caused by the resignation of an independent Parish Councillor.

Russell Turner has lived in Burbage for 51 years. He attended Grove Road, Sketchley Hill and Hastings schools. Russell works for a global engineering company where he supports the UK armed forces and renewable energy sectors. He was a carer to his elderly parents for many years.

The by-election will be a straight fight between Russell Turner and Boris Johnson's Conservative candidate. Labour are not standing this time. Many Labour supporters are lending their support to Russell to send a clear message to Boris Johnson that they are fed up with his party's sleaze, lies and incompetence.

The Polling Station on Higham Way will be open 7am - 10pm on Thursday 20th January.
