Plans to put a large composting site near two Leicestershire villagers have reared their head again.
The people behind the proposal to put a composting site near to Fenny Drayton and Higham on the Hill have decided to appeal against the decision of Leicestershire County Council's Planning Committee to oppose the plans.
There are concerns that the composting site will put more lorries on already overstretched local roads and could release noxious smells.
Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman Cllr Michael Mullaney, has written in to oppose the composting site again.
Michael Mullaney said "Many local residents have told me how angry they are about this appeal. The plans for a composting site here have already been rejected twice by Leicestershire County Council, and by a government Inspector. It has also been opposed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and by the hundreds of residents that signed the petition organised by Cllr Bill Crooks and myself.
"This appeal is the chance to finally finish off plans for a composting site. I've written in again to oppose the composting site I would urge all local residents to write in and oppose the composting site."
Lib Dem Cllr Bill Crooks said "People can help stop this appeal by writing in to oppose the composting site. People can oppose the plans by emailing teamp16@pns.gsi.gov.uk and quoting APP/M2460/A/12/2175524/NWF.
"The more people who oppose the appeal the more chance we have of stopping the composting site."
People need to email comments in by this Thursday 12th July.
