Tory failure costs local people dear

Money down the drain

The price of the Conservative's failure to properly represent Markfield, Stanton and Field Head is nearly £9,000 according to official figures published by the Council.

Local Taxpayers will have to find £6,000 to pay for the cost of the by-election on November 13th caused by resignation of Conservative Councillor John Cort.

Cort was forced to quit after the local papers revealed that he had missed nearly 90% of meetings. However this didn't stop him claiming £3,000 in allowances during his brief time as Councillor.

This brings the total bill for Markfield area residents to nearly £9,000 for this whole sorry episode of Conservative failure and neglect.

Liberal Democrat Agent, Cllr Stuart Bray said, "The Conservatives have had their chance, they have let Markfield, Field Head and Stanton down. No wonder so many people are switching to back Robin Webber- Jones the hardworking Lib Dem candidate on November 13th.

"With Labour in decline and in a poor third place in Hinckley and Bosworth it is clear only Robin Webber-Jones or the Conservative can win."

County Council Officials have also launched an investigation into an alleged misuse of public resources by Conservative County Councillor Sprason. Is this another example of Markfield Conservatives wasting public money?
