Unemployment in Bosworth is 519 people lower than it was a year ago.
Unemployment in Hinckley and Bosworth has fallen by nearly a half over the past year, with 519 fewer people unemployed in Bosworth constituency.
The figures were released by the Office of National Statistics.
Welcoming the fall in unemployment locally Cllr Michael Mullaney, Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Bosworth, said "These figures are good news and show new jobs are coming to our area. With new jobs coming through the DPD Parcel delivery company at Sketchley Brook and the Enterprise Zone at MIRA things are looking positive locally.
"I also want to pay tribute to all the local businesses who are working so hard to boost our economy and employ local people. It's clear from attending local business networking organisations like "Love Hinckley" and the "Atkins Networking Group" that there are many local businesses doing their bit to provide jobs to people locally.
"The other really positive news was that youth unemployment, amongst 18-24 year olds, had fallen by more than a half (52.9%) over the past year. With a big increase in apprenticeships locally over the past year its great that young people are being given the support to help get into work."
