Welcome for election of Tim Farron

Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrat Councillor and parliamentary candidate Michael Mullaney has welcomed today's election of Tim Farron MP as the new Lib Dem leader.

Welcoming the news Michael Mullaney said "This is great news, Tim Farron will make a brilliant leader of the Lib Dems.

"Tim Farron has the passion, the energy and the charisma to lead the party's recovery.

"Tim Farron visited Hinckley recently and met with members and supporters, who were really impressed with Tim's strong liberal principles and his ability to communicate with people.

"Tim is different to most political Leaders, he comes from the North not London, he comes from a poor family background not a wealthy one, he knows from personal experience how ordinary people live.

"With Tim leading the party I am sure the Lib Dems will be winning again in places like Hinckley and Bosworth."
