What is happening to Barwell High Street?

23 Mar 2007

Barwell residents are furious about the state of High Street. For many months the road surface has been breaking up - but nothing has been done.

Liberal Democrats have been urging the County Council to fix it as a matter of urgency. Councillors have received conflicting reports - there is some suggestion that repairs may not take place until next year!

The road surface is exposed and is a clear danger to pedestrians and cyclists. Indeed it is now so bad it could damage cars!

"The Conservative County Council has put our council tax up yet again. The least they can do is fix our roads when they need mending!," said Liberal Democrat councillor for Barwell Sandra Francks.
