An eight month campaign to save Hinckley's Ambulance Station has ended successfully. A meeting of the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) Board this morning agreed to back plans to have 28 Hubs and Ambulance Stations in the East Midlands including an Ambulance Station in Hinckley. This follows an eight month campaign to save the Ambulance Station, since last July, when EMAS first proposed to close it.
The announcement yesterday by the Chancellor in the budget statement of the scrapping of the unfair beer duty escalator and a 1p reduction in beer duty has been welcomed locally.
