Hinckley Councillors call for local landmark to be saved

Hinckley Liberal Democrat Councillors are campaigning for a local landmark to be saved. The "Big Pit", a popular local water feature which is off Ashby Road, Hinckley, is threatened with being filled in and houses being built there.. The planning application for this has gone into Leicestershire County Council. Local Lib Dem Councillors have written in to oppose the plans. Hinckley Lib Dem County Councillor Michael Mullaney added, "I hope as many residents as possible will sign our petition online at www.bosworthlibdems.org.uk to save the "Big Pit" from development. Local Lib Dem MEP hits the streets of Hinckley and Bosworth

Local Liberal Democrat MEP Bill Newton Dunn took to the streets of Hinckley and Bosworth recently to help take out the good news on jobs coming to the area. Bill Newton Dunn campaigned with local parliamentary candidate Cllr Michael Mullaney and local Borough and parish councillors. Bill Newton Dunn said "It's great to see new jobs coming to the Hinckley and Bosworth area and it was great to help take that message out to residents in Hinckley and Bosworth." Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Bosworth Cllr Michael Mullaney said "Locally there's a good news story on jobs with thousands of jobs coming to the Enterprise Zone art MIRA on the A5 near Hinckley and another 1,000 jobs coming to the DPD parcel delivery company at Sketchley Brook. Bill Newton Dunn is an active MEP for the East Midlands and it was good for him to come to help our campaign in Hinckley and Bosworth."

Mayor Charity Event Invitation

The Lib Dem Mayor of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, Lynda Hodgkins, would like to formally invite people across HInckley & Bosworth to a 'Charity Casino Evening' in support the Mayor's charity at the Sketchley Grange on the 12th October. The team have put together a fun evening and have worked extremely hard at ensuring the night will be a success. It is a fun night including a three course meal; Casino tables (no money required, all played with 'funny money' - and you get £100 to start you off!); Music & disco; and a local celebrity and male model has agreed to help on the night too - all for just £28!
