Hinckley and Bosworth Liberal Democrats celebrate election success

Liberal Democrats in Hinckley and Bosworth are celebrating a successful result in the Leicestershire County Council elections. The Liberal Democrats held all four of their County Councillors in Hinckley and Bosworth, Voters in Burbage Castle re-elected Stuart Bray and Keith Lynch, while Hinckley voters returned David Bill again and Michael Mullaney was elected too. The Conservatives meanwhile lost one of their seats to UKIP. The results across Hinckley and Bosworth were; 4 seats for the Liberal Democrats, 4 for the Conservatives and 1 for UKIP. This is the first time since modern County Council elections began in 1973, that the Liberal Democrats have finished equal first with the Conservatives in Hinckley and Bosworth.

Health Minister launches Hinckley and Bosworth Lib Dem campaign

Health Minister Norman Lamb MP joined Leicestershire Liberal Democrats as they launched their County Council election campaign. He met with Lib Dem members to launch the Leicestershire Liberal Democrat manifesto before joining Cllrs David Bill and Michael Mullaney on the streets of Hinckley to campaign. Michael Mullaney said "It was great that Norman Lamb came to launch Leicestershire Lib Dems campaign here in Hinckley. Local Liberal Democrats work all year round and locally we have good news to tell on health, particularly the postive news about Hinckley Ambulance Station being saved."

Ambulance Service agrees to save Hinckley Ambulance Station

An eight month campaign to save Hinckley's Ambulance Station has ended successfully. A meeting of the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) Board this morning agreed to back plans to have 28 Hubs and Ambulance Stations in the East Midlands including an Ambulance Station in Hinckley. This follows an eight month campaign to save the Ambulance Station, since last July, when EMAS first proposed to close it.
