Michael Mullaney canvassed David Herbert a resident in Earl Shilton and ended up being given a signed copy of Mr Herbert's book "The Life and Times of George Ward", Liberal MP for Bosworth in the 1920s. Michael Mullaney said "This was a canvassing first. Knocked on a door and ended up leaving with a signed copy of a book written by the resident I called on! "David Herbert wrote a history of George Ward who was a Liberal MP for Bosworth Mr Herbert told me that George Ward was a rarity among Bosworth MPs in that he was based locally. If I manage to replace Mr Tredinnick, Bosworth will again have an MP who lives locally."
