"Benefit-Cheat Tory Councillor should resign" - Lib Dems

Following the news that Hinckley and Bosworth Conservative Councillor Chris Boothby has pleaded guilty last week to charges of benefit fraud. Lib Dem Council Leader Stuart Bray said, "Only last October Cllr Boothby was protesting his innocence and vowed to clear his name, now after months of protestations he has pleaded guilty. His credibility is shot and he should now do the honourable thing and resign his Ratby, Bagworth and Thornton seat so a new councillor can be elected.

Local Lib Dem Focus team launch jobs campaign

Since 2010 Lib Dem policies have helped create over a million private sector jobs and have led to a record increase in apprenticeships locally. Cllr Michael Mullaney said, "Despite the economic mess left behind by Labour the Lib Dems, both nationally and locally, have invested in business and apprenticeships to get people back to work. "But we know there's much more to do to rebuild our economy. That's why we are launching our million jobs for a stronger economy campaign starting with a plan for delivering more apprenticeship places." More apprenticeship places needed The Lib Dems want to double the number of businesses that take on apprentices. We believe that they are a great way to get young people into work.
