Mayor Charity Event Invitation

The Lib Dem Mayor of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, Lynda Hodgkins, would like to formally invite people across HInckley & Bosworth to a 'Charity Casino Evening' in support the Mayor's charity at the Sketchley Grange on the 12th October. The team have put together a fun evening and have worked extremely hard at ensuring the night will be a success. It is a fun night including a three course meal; Casino tables (no money required, all played with 'funny money' - and you get £100 to start you off!); Music & disco; and a local celebrity and male model has agreed to help on the night too - all for just £28! The Mayor's husband has raised full sponsorship for the casino tables and music. We need YOU to ensure the evening helps the charities SNIPS and Teenage Cancer Trust. Free school meals for infants locally

Hinckley County Councillor Michael Mullaney has welcomed the news that from September 2014 all infant school pupils including 21,900 in Leicestershire will benefit from a free hot and healthy meal at lunchtime.

Vince Cable meets with Hinckley and Bosworth Lib Dem Councillors

Business Secretary praises Hinckley & Bosworth

The Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills visited the new Hinckley Hub to hear about annual savings for the tax payers and job creation in the looal area. The new Hub on Rugby Road houses Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and Job Centre Plus, the Police and the Leicestershire County Council are soon to share the facilities as well. Leader of the Council, Stuart Bray said "People living in the Hinckley & Bosworth area will not only benefit from having these services under one roof but the local tax payers will also save at least £75,000 a year. This will help keep this council as one of the lowest council tax authorities in the country". As well as taking an interest in the Hinckley Hub Dr Cable welcomed the news that Hinckley & Bosworth were at the centre of creating 1000's of new jobs for local people.
